How do I reduce an image to 50KB?
Open Compress image to 50KB, choose a photo and set a maximum. The tool searches output quality and optionally dimensions. It only reports success when the actual output is at or below your limit. Here, 1 KB equals 1,024 bytes.
Does exact KB mean an identical byte count?
No. It means no larger than your requested maximum. An image can come out smaller. A portal may use decimal KB (1,000 bytes); choose a slightly lower target when that distinction matters.
Why did compression make a file bigger?
An already compressed source may be more efficient than a new canvas export. PNG is lossless and does not use the JPEG quality slider. Try JPG or WebP, lower quality or smaller dimensions, and compare the measured output.
Do files leave my device?
No. Image processing and PDF creation happen in your browser. No image file, filename or preview is transmitted. This site has no enabled ads or analytics.
What formats can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP are supported when your browser can decode them. HEIC and animated image formats are unsupported. Export HEIC as JPG or PNG first. Inputs are limited to 20 MB and 24 megapixels per image.
Can this remove a background?
No. Transparent output preserves existing alpha pixels. White background fills transparent pixels; it does not erase a photographed paper or portrait background.
Are photo presets officially accepted?
No. They are customizable size examples. Verify every requirement with your application provider; dimensions alone do not establish acceptance.
Why is my phone photo sideways?
Supported browser decoding applies the image’s EXIF orientation. Export the photo again in your device’s image viewer if the source orientation is incorrect.
How are PDF pages sized?
A4 and Letter pages use real paper dimensions in millimeters. Images fit within your margins without stretching. Fit image mode derives the page from a 96 DPI equivalent. Each image is a separate page; rotate and reorder before exporting.
